Recovery Ministry - Jacksonville, Florida

As a joint effort between the Missions and Benevolence ministries, the Recovery Ministry seeks to help those who are struggling to overcome drug and alcohol addiction. The focus of this ministry is teaching how Biblical principles can help in the recovery process. The 12 step recovery plan, a long time standard among those seeking relief from the bondage of addiction, has at its heart the acknowledgement of God or a “Higher Power.” Our efforts are aimed at helping recovering addicts to understand who this “Higher Power” is and how He can help not only with recovery from addictions, but with life’s problems in general. In this ministry we use both larger group meetings and small discussion groups coupled with prayer, sharing times, personal testimonies and guest speakers. Also, we make Bibles and Bible correspondence courses available to those who request them. Along with these efforts, we also offer benevolent help with various other needs such as toiletries, clothing, sheets, blankets, and jackets as needed and on a case-by-case basis.

If you think you might be able to help either by donating your time, talents or any of the above items, please see Rita Thompson or Troy Regas.
