Missions Committee March 2008 God clearly trusts us an awful lot to have begun not one but two demanding outreach efforts sustained by a fairly small congregation. For over two years, we have supported the Medical & Vision Mission in Negril, Jamaica, and the Recovery Outreach Ministry. Each of these efforts requires large commitments of manpower hours and financial resources. The fact that this work continues to grow and bear fruit is proof of God's hand at work. On our own we simply couldn't do it. The Kathleen McGehee Trust recently expressed their faith in our work by granting us $9540. Nearly $4000 will go to Recovery Outreach. Another $750 will pay for VBS in Johnstown, NY where we continue to support Don English. We were given $5000 from another donor to buy a used VW van for the church in Negril. $750 from the trust will pay to keep it running. Part of the grant helped team members who could not afford their portion of the expenses. This left not quite $3000 for the purchase of additional medicine and medical supplies. We are excited because we can now purchase expensive antifungal creams and equipment like walking canes. God provides abundantly! We are grateful to be part of a church with such an expansive heart.
